What happens at our first lesson?
Your first lesson is all about getting to know you. We’ll chat about your wedding, your venue, your song (if you’ve chosen one), and the style you’re envisioning. Then we’ll get you moving right away, leaving you with a clear plan for the lessons ahead.
Do we need to choose our song before we start?
Not at all. If you’ve already picked a song, fantastic. If you’re still deciding, bring a few favourites and we’ll help you find the perfect fit. We’ll focus on building strong fundamentals first, then tailor the choreography to your music.
Do we have to learn a choreographed routine?
No. Every couple is different. Some prefer a fully choreographed first dance, while others want something simple and natural. We can teach lead and follow for a more relaxed feel, create a custom routine, or combine both approaches to suit your style.
How long should our first dance be? Can you edit our music?
Most first dances are between 90 seconds and 2 minutes. If your song is longer, we’ll help you choose the best section or professionally edit it to create the perfect length. Music editing is included with your lessons.
When should we start lessons?
We recommend starting 2–4 months before your wedding to give you plenty of time to learn and practise at a comfortable pace. That said, we’ve helped many couples prepare in just a few weeks. Whatever your timeline, we’ll create a plan that works for you.
We've never danced before, is that okay?
Absolutely. Most of the couples we work with are complete beginners. Our lessons are designed to be fun, relaxed, and completely tailored to your experience level, so you can enjoy the process and feel confident on your wedding day
