The styles

Which swing is for you?

West Coast Swing, taught by Alinka, is smooth and stretchy, danced in a slot to modern pop, R&B and blues. It is all about connection and improvisation, which makes it addictive on a social floor.

Jive is the fast, bouncy one: kicks, flicks and rock ’n’ roll energy. It is also one of the five competition Latin dances, so it is a natural next step if you enjoy ballroom and Latin.

Both are taught with the same focus on real technique: timing you can feel and leads that are easy to follow.

Do I need a partner for swing lessons?

No. Partners rotate in group classes, and in private lessons your coach dances with you.

West Coast Swing is danced in a slot with a smooth, elastic feel to modern music. East Coast Swing and Jive are bouncier, circular and danced to swing and rock ’n’ roll. We teach both: West Coast Swing with Alinka, and Jive with our ballroom and Latin team.

Swing group classes are added to the schedule when there is interest. Check upcoming classes, or call us and we will let you know when the next one starts. Private lessons can start any week.

Group classes are booked with a 5, 10 or 20 class pass. Private lessons start at $140 + tax ($169 + tax with a head coach), and a $99 consultation is available if you want a plan.
